For 25 years, Trips at Asia has been doing one thing: building private journeys across Asia for travelers who want to actually understand the places they visit, not just pass through them.

We call it Cross-Cultural Connection. It is the thread running through everything we do. The destinations we choose, the guides we work with, and the experiences we build into each itinerary. We are not interested in surface-level tourism, and we have found that our travelers are not either.

Every trip is designed from scratch. We rarely run the same itinerary twice, and we have no interest in starting. Ron Oren, the company's founder, is personally involved in planning every journey we take.

That depth is why we have deliberately chosen not to expand beyond Asia. Our loyal travelers have asked us to take them further. We always decline. You cannot know a place from a brochure and a local contact. You know it because you go back, year after year, and we do.

If you are looking for a journey built around you and your story, not a catalog you choose from, we would love to hear from you.

Why travel with us ?

Why travel with us ?

We have been here for 25 years

Not managing Asia from a head office elsewhere. We are based here, travel constantly throughout the region, and have been doing so for over two decades. That kind of presence builds something you cannot manufacture: genuine relationships with local guides and communities, and intimate understanding of how places change across seasons and years, and the judgment to know what belongs in your trip and what does not. When you work with us, that accumulated knowledge is what you are drawing on.

One person, start to finish

From your first inquiry to your last day on the road, you work with one person. Not a reservations team, not a handoff to a ground operator. The same person who helped design your itinerary is the one keeping an eye on it while you travel. That is not how most travel companies work. It is how we have always worked.

Built for travelers who want more than a tour

We attract a particular kind of traveler: curious, experienced, interested in the culture and history beneath the surface of a place. If you have done group tours and found them shallow, or tried to plan independently and found it overwhelming, we exist in the space between. Small groups, deep itineraries, full logistical support without the comprimises of mass tourism.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Most Asia tour operators build trips from a catalogue. We don't. Every itinerary we design starts from scratch, shaped around who you are as a traveler: your pace, your interests, what you want to feel at the end of each day. Our team has deep on-the-ground knowledge across nine destinations, built over 25 years of operating exclusively in Asia. No call centers, no automated itinerary generators. When you ask a question, you get a direct answer from someone who knows the region.

Private trips for solo travelers, couples, families, and small groups are what we do best. We also organize small- to medium-sized group tours, typically with 6 to 12 people, where the shared experience enhances the journey without sacrificing quality or flexibility. What stays consistent is the approach: every day is planned with realistic pacing, quality accommodation, and local guides who know their region deeply. You won't spend half a day in transit to tick a box. The goal is always travel that feels considered, not compressed.

We work across nine destinations in Asia: Mongolia, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Nepal, South Korea, Bhutan, and Taiwan. Each one is a long-term area of focus, not an add-on. We know which seasons work, which routes are worth taking, and which local partners are genuinely excellent. You won't get a recycled itinerary built for someone else.

You tell us what matters to you: your interests, travel dates, budget, pace, and comfort preferences. We draft an itinerary from there. You review it, tell us what to change, and we revise until it's right. The final proposal covers accommodation, transfers, guides, and activities, all aligned with your priorities.

Before you leave, we send a practical preparation guide: packing suggestions, health considerations, cultural notes, and a day-by-day overview of your itinerary. Every traveler also receives a dedicated destination guide with maps, local insights, and useful tips for the region. Our planning team stays available right up to departure for any last questions.

Every proposal includes a clear inclusion list; as a general guide, accommodation, private transportation, local guides, and planned activities are included. International flights, travel insurance, personal expenses, and gratuities are not included unless specified. You'll always know exactly what's in and what's out before you commit.

Yes, and we'd say so plainly rather than bury it in fine print. Medical coverage, emergency evacuation, trip interruption, and delay protection are all important, particularly when traveling through remote areas or across multiple countries. We recommend arranging comprehensive coverage before departure.
